Sentek Instrument’s picoDAS Enables New Frontiers in Distributed Magnetic Sensing
Sentek Instrument, a global leading manufacturer of high-performance optical sensing technologies, is proud to announce the performance results for its picoDAS, the world’s most sensitive Distributed Acoustic Sensing System. The results appear in the most recent issue of Photonics. Researchers from Virginia Tech’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering used Sentek Instrument’s picoDAS system with its proprietary fiber Bragg Grating (FBG)-based sensor array coupled to Metglas® magnetostrictive alloy to create a highly sensitive fully distributed magnetic sensor that can be deployed over very long distances. Sentek Instrument Awarded STTR Contract to Supply NovaPT™-E Sensing System
Sentek Instrument has been awarded a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I contract for the development of a Robust Multi-Parameter Sensor for Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE) Applications. In this program, Sentek Instrument will collaborate with the Engines and Combustion Laboratory (ECL) at the University of Alabama (UA) to design, build, and demonstrate minimally invasive sensors capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of the RDE environment. Sentek Instrument’s advanced fiber-optic sensing systems provide time-resolved measurements of channel pressure as well as instantaneous temperature and wall heat flux. Read the full release here.

NovaPT-E Pressure Sensor Reaches New Highs
Sentek Instrument proudly announces that its sapphire pressure sensor now operates reliably at pulse temperatures up to 1500°C and can be demodulated at frequencies as high as 60 kHz. This advancement enables engineers to extract critical data from dynamic high-temperature processes, aiding system diagnostics and performance optimization.
